About Me

Hello, my name is Wee Choon, and I'm a senior lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Malaysia. I've been fortunate to work in academia for over a decade, ever since joining UniMAP as a teaching engineer in 2008. Since then, I've earned a Master's degree and a PhD in engineering from Kyoto University, Japan, and have had the opportunity to contribute to the education and development of countless students.

My goal is to empower the next generation to build a better nation and contribute to the industrial revolution by applying the principles of engineering physics, mathematics, and materials science to the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of machine-driven systems. As part of this mission, I take an active role in developing new courses, creating teaching plans, monitoring student performance, and providing guidance to help students achieve their goals. I also mentor final-year students on their projects and encourage them to think creatively and independently.

One of my dreams is to find new and innovative ways to harness the power of palm oil for energy production, and I'm currently conducting research in this area. By converting excess palm oil from plantations into energy using solid oxide fuel cells, we can help to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and promote the use of green energy. I believe that through collaborative efforts and a commitment to innovation, we can make a real difference in the world.

Please feel free to reach out if you'd like to learn more about my work or discuss potential collaborations. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Strategically molding the future by outcome based education (OBE) and effectively countinuous quality improvement (CQI) implementation.

Strategically molding the future is a crucial responsibility that lies with educators, and it requires a comprehensive approach that integrates various methodologies and practices. As an educator with vast experience, I believe that Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) implementation are key pillars in the journey towards achieving this goal.

OBE is a student-centered approach that focuses on the expected outcomes of the learning process. It involves defining clear and measurable learning outcomes, aligning these outcomes with the teaching methodologies, and then assessing the outcomes to ensure that they have been achieved. By integrating OBE, we can ensure that our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to excel in their chosen fields.

To ensure that our OBE approach is effective, it is critical to implement CQI practices. This approach involves analyzing feedback from stakeholders, identifying areas that need improvement, and making the necessary changes to ensure that we meet the expected outcomes. By integrating CQI, we can continuously monitor the effectiveness of our teaching methodologies and make necessary improvements to ensure that we provide the best possible education to our students.

As an educator, I'm passionate about ensuring that my students receive the best education possible. By strategically molding the future through OBE and CQI implementation, I am confident that we can produce graduates who are ready to tackle the challenges of the future and make a positive impact on society.
